2. An Ayurvedic Approach: How Your Digestion Affects Your Health
Tuesday, July 1st | Time: 6:30 - 8:00 pm
In Ayurveda, digestion is considered a cornerstone of overall health. It is not just about breaking down food; it involves how well your body absorbs nutrients and eliminates waste. When digestion is functioning optimally, it supports physical health, emotional balance, and mental clarity. Poor digestion may lead to various health issues, including fatigue, skin problems, and mood swings. Therefore, Ayurveda emphasizes nurturing digestion through proper dietary choices, mindful eating, and lifestyle habits. This holistic approach can help maintain the balance of the body's systems, ultimately promoting better health and well-being.
3. Ayurvedic Travel Tips | Tuesday, July 15th | Time: 6:30 - 8:00 pm
Whether you travel by air, land, or visit loved ones for the weekend, Vata dosha will always be affected, even if it’s Summer, where Pitta’s qualities are more present. From an Ayurvedic perspective, staying grounded, nourished, and aligned with your natural rhythms is important. By incorporating these Ayurvedic practices into your travel routine, you can support your body and mind through the changes and challenges of travel. Whether you're flying across the globe or just a few hours away, these tips will help you arrive at your destination feeling balanced, refreshed, and ready to enjoy your journey.
4. Food Incompatibilities and Clogging Foods
Tuesday, July 29th | Time: 6:30 - 8:00 pm
The ancient Ayurvedic scriptures mention 18 categories of “Food Incompatibilities.” In Ayurveda, harmonizing food combinations is essential for maintaining body and spirit wellness. Certain incompatible food pairings can disrupt digestion, leading to discomfort and imbalances. Moreover, some foods can contribute to "clogging" in the body, hindering digestive flow and overall health. By choosing compatible foods and avoiding those that create blockages, we empower ourselves to enhance our vitality and prevent disease.
5. Ayurvedic Meal Prepping | Tuesday, August 12th | Time: 6:30 - 8:00 pm
Ayurvedic meal prepping involves preparing meals in a way that aligns with Ayurvedic principles. This practice focuses on balancing the body's energies, known as the 3 doshas, Vata, Pitta, and Kapha, through mindful food choices and preparation methods. It emphasizes using fresh, seasonal ingredients and cooking techniques that enhance the nutritional value of meals. By planning and prepping your meals in advance, you can ensure that you're consuming a balanced diet that supports your specific constitution and health goals. Key steps to Ayurvedic meal prepping include selecting wholesome ingredients, cooking in small batches, and using spices that aid digestion and better absorption. Whether you're preparing for a busy week or simply looking to incorporate more Ayurvedic practices into your diet, this method can lead to a healthier and more balanced lifestyle.

Yoga + Ayurveda | Summer Practices
Join us as we explore Yogic and Ayurvedic Practices for the Summer Season, known in Ayurveda as the Pitta Season.
Eileen will lead the first 45 minutes with a Yoga practice designed for the Summer Season, and Aggeliki will guide an online presentation on Diet and Lifestyle for Summer.
-
According to Ayurveda, the Summer, known as the Pitta season, is governed predominantly by the Fire and Water elements. The elements that make up Pitta Dosha are one of the three constitutions. Pitta is responsible for the body's metabolism and digestion. All doshas in Ayurveda have different Gunas or qualities.
An Ayurvedic principle states that “like increases like”, while “opposites bring balance”. So in order to balance a particular dosha, we must cultivate the Gunas / qualities opposite to the dosha we’re trying to balance. To achieve this, we adapt our diet and lifestyle.

Ayurveda and the Mind
What if I told you that the main purpose of both Yoga and Ayurveda is for the mind? The various practices derived from these two sciences serve as a pathway to reconnect us with our true selves. Often, it is our mind that obstructs this journey, causing us to become preoccupied with specific yoga routines and dietary trends. Through the wisdom of Vedic scriptures, we learn that we carry our minds with us from lifetime to lifetime, influenced by our ancestors and familial karmic bonds. We will explore how to incorporate yogic and Ayurvedic practices to help us remember who we truly are. Additionally, we will discuss the three Doshas of the body—Vata, Pitta, and Kapha—and their impact on the mind. We will also delve into the “Three Maha Gunas,” which are essentially the Doshas of the mind: Sattva, Rajas, and Tamas.
We will explore the following topics:
The power of mantras in purifying the mind
The impact of our diet and digestion on mental health
Ayurvedic herbs and spices that promote mental well-being
Seasonal Ayurvedic practices for achieving balance in both mind and body
